Who Is the Shop Tart?

The Shop Tart was born when I realized not all the readers of my other blog, The Daily Digress, were as interested in shopping as I was. But I know there are a lot of you out there who are as blissfully shallow as I am, when the situation demands. Also, my husband reads my other blog and I’m not crazy about him knowing every time I pop into a store…just to look.

When I was little, my mother never let me play with Barbie; she didn’t want me to become obsessed with clothes or make-up. Oops. She also claims to hate shopping. Maybe she doesn’t know how to do it the fun way. I adore a good sale, but I’ll pay full price if there’s something I just have to have, which happens more often than I’d like. There are times when a girl wants to be first, even if it costs. My mother also doesn’t understand the social side of shopping. Wandering around this beautiful town getting to know the nice ladies and gentlemen who work here is a lot of fun. Not to mention the “Sip and Shop” parties that a lot of local stores host (No, you will not be sipping ginger ale.) The Shop Tart does enjoy a nice adult beverage while she shops, don’t you? That little glow makes the clothes look better.

My biggest regret in life is not buying a pair of Jimmy Choo sandals marked down to $150 on a trip to Red Bank, New Jersey. I don’t want the same tragedy to befall you. The Shop Tart is here to do the legwork to make your shopping easier. Don’t miss a sale, don’t miss a new shipment and do not pass up something that’s perfect for you!

The Shop Tart apologizes in advance for her excessive use of exclamation marks. Shopping is exciting, n’est-ce pas?
