See Shop Tart. See Shop Tart in Gryphon showroom. See Shop Tart try to be cool.
Filed Under Uncategorized | 2 Comments
The Shop Tart has cool friends. One of her friends knows the brother of Aimee Cho, former fashion writer at Vogue and current designer of Gryphon. Somehow, this tentative connection resulted in the Shop Tart getting to visit Aimee at her showroom in New York last week to check out her spring line (which was totally a-ma-zing, but we’ll get to that). Perhaps you haven’t heard of Gryphon, because it isn’t available in Columbia. Yet. The Shop Tart dearly hopes one of her local favorites will write an order for spring*. Aimee’s collections have been consistently awesome from the beginning, when her vision began with a perfect trench coat and grew. Exiting the elevator, the Shop Tart saw the entrance to Gryphon, an homage to the original trench. (Yes, she did wonder if she had the panache to snag one on the way out, pretending it was her own, casually placed on antler hooks when she breezed into the room. No, she did not try it.)
The entrance hall opened into a high-ceilinged, sunlit showroom, lined on three walls with racks of clothing (SQUEEEEE!) and decorated on the others with inspiration.
Looking from corner to corner, the Shop Tart felt almost inspired enough to create her own line. Alas, she is not that brilliant, which is why she shops with relish and admires her favorite designers to no end. Gryphon is all about incorporating bits of shine into your every-day life. The Shop Tart wholeheartedly endorses this vision.
Greedily, she went through the racks, trying to contain her excitement for things she might not be able to have. There was a nautical knit top adorned with a long necklace of gold star-shaped sequins attached at the shoulders she wanted to wear right this second with leggings and later tucked in to wide-leg trousers. Speaking of, there was a beautiful pair of navy, wide-leg trousers that she is sure would become her go-to pants for years. She coveted a striped t with asymmetrical knots down the front made of the kind of knit that never pills, always looks crisp and remains soft after many wears. There were sequins at the neck of a print silk top that would be equally pretty with a cocktail skirt, jeans or the double breasted navy shorts in Gryphon’s spring collection. Or the metallic, waffle-weave linen shorts. She lusted after another silk top, also patterned, with a double row of square brushed brass studs traveling down the shoulders to the ends of the short sleeves. There was a cracked silver fabric motorcycle jacket and a cropped navy blazer with subtle gathers at the shoulders, just enough to keep it looking crisp and feminine without crossing the line to military. Mais oui, a perfect trench or three hung amidst the other glorious things. *sigh*
A navy-blue sequin blazer sent shivers down the Shop Tart’s back, right into her fingers as she grabbed it off the rack to try it. Again, she found her normally honest self wondering if she could somehow slip it into her bag without anyone noticing. Try to appreciate the beauty of the jacket in the photo below and ignore the Shop Tart’s outfit, which was hastily chosen in the dark so she wouldn’t wake her sleeping roommate for the week. Some outfits work, some don’t. What can she say? The eyelet peep-toe boots, incidentally, were a favorite for the week, as they are oddly comfortable for long walks. She wore them so much she had to take them to the cobbler when she got home to have the rubber tips on the heels replaced. True story.
Even the view from the showroom was lovely.
So were Aimee and her sales director Stephanie, both gracious enough to spend time chatting with the Shop Tart during what is likely one of their busiest weeks of the year. They had just showed at spring coterie. The Shop Tart hopes it was slightly less stressful than their last coterie experience, which Aimee wrote about on her blog. Judging from that story, she is well-liked by industry insiders. Not surprising. The Shop Tart enjoyed her visit, instantly relaxing in the serene atmosphere of the showroom after a rushed morning and harried cab ride. She will relax even more when she is sure she can find Gryphon in Columbia this spring. If not, she’ll be happy to travel to Hampden Clothing in Charleston, but she would love to have even more choices.
Speaking of choices, are you going to the reception tonight in honor of Jodi Arnold’s visit to Columbia? Jodi designs Mint and she’s bringing it to VanJean for a trunk show on Thursday. Tonight, she’ll show the line and talk about her design process at a cocktail party at VanJean owner Melissa Blanchard’s historical home on Saluda Avenue. Sounds fancy, right? Sounds exclusive. Lucky you…you’re invited. You must mind your manners and r.s.v.p. though. The Shop Tart will be there with bells on. Actually, that’s not quite true. No bells, just a Mint cocktail dress. The bells are figurative, silly. If you can’t make it tonight, call VanJean for an appointment to see the line in-store tomorrow. The Shop Tart got a preview and it was beyond lovely. Trunk shows anywhere are a great way to score pieces no one else in town will have. You have access to a lot more of a particular line than one boutique can order. Don’t forget to check the Shop Tart’s calendar for trunk shows around town. Mwah!
Happy Shopping and don’t forget to tell them you read it on the Shop Tart!
* Little birdies here and there have told her a couple of shops in town are considering Gryphon for spring and the Shop Tart is keeping her fingers crossed. Won’t you?

On Thursday evening, Lucky Magazine hosted a boutique crawl on Bleecker Street. That’s in New York, y’all. It was loads of fun, rife with discounts and free bubbly, and the Shop Tart thinks Lucky should recreate it right here in Columbia. The crawl started at 6 pm and the Shop Tart and her friend arrived early, so they decided to pop into Fish, a raw bar that reminded them of home.
They started with the Red, White and Blue special - six oysters and a glass of red or white wine or a Pabst Blue Ribbon for eight dollars. The wine was just fine, although the Shop Tart has no recollection of the name.
The oysters were exactly what the ladies wanted. Is there anything better on an ever-so-slightly-chilly fall afternoon?
After the raw oysters, they wanted more wine. It seemed like a good idea to order more food to go with the wine and they opted for angels on horseback, oysters wrapped in bacon and served with cocktail sauce and a healthy dollop of horseradish. Pretty good, not bad.
The music in the restaurant lulled them (Hooray for Zeppelin!) and, tout d’un coup, it was nearly seven o’clock. The ladies started walking. The boutiques were crowded in a fun, not irritating, way. The Shop Tart is happy to see people getting pleasure out of shopping again. Everyone was in a good mood, quite possibly due to the free drinks at several boutiques. The Shop Tart did not allow the crowd at Alexis Bittar to deter her; she knew she was shopping there thanks to the 15% discount. In these situations, the Shop Tart recommends making eye contact with a salesperson and establishing yourself as someone who’s there to shop, not just score free Prosecco. That being said, when the salesperson offers a glass, do take it. Darby was nice as she could be and very patient as the Shop Tart wandered around the shop. She was looking for non-dangly earrings to go with everything. She found a pair of Lucite pyramid studs, but wasn’t sold on the color. Darby brought out plenty of other colors from the back and the Shop Tart settled on black. She wore them out of the store. Hooray! She also fell in love with - but did not buy - this fab cuff.
More wandering ensued. There were twenty-four stores on the crawl, including James Perse (love the knit basics), Marc by Marc Jacobs, Reiss (new to the Shop Tart, fun dress-up clothes from the U.K.), Intermix, Cynthia Rowley, Lulu Guinness, Bond No. 9, 7 for All Mankind and Diptyque. The ladies stepped off Bleecker and into Plaza Too, where the Shop Tart saw…Repetto jazz shoes. When she was in middle school , she desperately wanted to wear her jazz shoes to school and her mother wouldn’t let her, because they were expensive as h*ll and had soft leather bottoms that the concrete at school would have ripped to shreds. Maybe now is her chance. [Feel free to insert Jazz Hands here.] Perhaps the resurgence in jazz shoes’ popularity is due to the newest Fame movie. Or not.
Plaza Too is a bright, big boutique with lots of different brands. They carry everything - shoes, clothing and accessories. Love the stack of bracelets.
Also love the cute guy watching the door. Mwah!
After Plaza Too, the ladies were tired. They had been joined by a New York friend who recommended stepping into Turks and Frogs, a wine bar around the corner. Turks and Frogs made the Shop Tart feel almost as cool as a real city girl and she enjoyed the people-watching as much as she did the wine. After Turks and Frogs, they stopped in Fresh. As much as the Shop Tart loves Fresh, she decided it would be easier to buy it at Pout in Columbia, where the crowds are less extreme. She does adore Fresh, though, and so should you. Their Crème Ancienne is the absolute bomb.
Olive and Bette’s seemed like a cool shop, but the Shop Tart was tired and dreaming of the dragon roll on the Shang terrace back at her hotel.
Speaking of the dragon roll, the Shop Tart has learned via Google that the sushi menu on the terrace at the Thompson LES debuted the week she was there. Thumbs up, y’all, because everything she tried was delicious. She particularly enjoyed the aforementioned dragon roll, the firecracker roll and steamed spinach and pine nut dumplings. The ladies finished their final evening at the Thompson LES on the terrace, sipping Sancerre and loving sushi. The Shop Tart wanted to get some sleep so she could be alert for her visit to meet Aimee Cho at the Gryphon showroom the next day*.
Happy Shopping and don’t forget to tell them you read it on the Shop Tart!
P.S. Today and tomorrow are the last days to use your special Shop Tart discount at Soak, 10% off any service over $30 scheduled Monday through Wednesday. Go get that fab graphite mani you’ve been wanting. it will look great with your Alexis Bittar cuff from Non(e)such!
* That was foreshadowing, y’all. Very obvious foreshadowing.

This and that.

First of all, the Shop Tart is back. So call her. Lunch? Drinks? Spa day? She’s in. Because her brain is still on vacation, which is why you can expect a few more posts about New York. First, let’s talk about her hotel, the Thompson LES. It was great, even more so in retrospect.
She and her friend M had planned to stay three nights there followed by two with a friend in Brooklyn. On Wednesday night - their last night - they had second thoughts. Technically, these second thoughts occurred on Thursday morning, as the ladies realized at 2 am after enjoying sushi and Sancerre on the hotel terrace that they couldn’t possibly leave in the morning. The Shop Tart volunteered to call the front desk and see if they could stay. M wanted to wait until morning, but the Shop Tart needed to know if she could sleep in or not. The nice man at the front desk didn’t seem at all surprised by an early morning phone call from a tipsy southern housewife. She explained her plight and he informed her - in a very sympathetic voice - that the hotel was completely booked. She kept slurring rambling talking.
“Dude! Be cool! There’s, like, no WAY we can get up in time for check-out…yes, I know it’s at noon…pleeaaaaase…”
He checked the computer again. Lo and behold, someone had canceled minutes before and the ladies had their room. The Shop Tart had enough presence of mind to ask for the rate for Thursday night. Guess what. It was way more expensive. So the annoying yet oddly charming slurring aimless yet adorable rambling drunken yet less than horrifying begging discussion began anew.
“Is there any way we could stick with the rate we already have? Dude! Be cool! Pleeeaaaaase? I’m from the south and I’m a housewife. We have to tell our husbands what we spend*. Come on…be cool…can I get a cheeseburger or some fries or something? We’re huuuuungry…dude.”
Miraculously, he agreed to the rate and had a porter bring up a bunch of takeout menus. Heaven! Speaking of the staff at the Thompson, they were fabulous. To a person, they were happy to answer any questions or provide any necessary service. They hailed cabs and explained everything to the drivers. They recommended off-menu breakfast items for picky eaters. The room was cleaned every day, no matter what time its occupants wandered in and out. And they really cleaned, including hanging up clothes from the floor and tidying toiletries and randomly-placed accessories. The concierge was full of useful information, including an answer to the question, “If my friend only has an hour before her flight and she wants to go to the department store with the biggest shoe selection, where should she go?” (Answer: Saks. Just so you know.) Although the hotel seemed to host plenty of hip, young party-goers, the staff honored the old ladies’ request to be on a quiet hall. In fact, the old ladies were the loudest things on the hall.
The Shop Tart had breakfast on the terrace every morning and it was lovely - quiet enough for work but with enough street noise and chatter that she didn’t feel self-conscious. The late-night menu consisting of sushi and other small plates saved the ladies from a wicked hangover more than once. Speaking of hangover, the wine list was just fine. They enjoyed Cava and Sancerre by the glass and the bottle. According to M, the lox and bagel plate at breakfast was beyond compare. (The Shop Tart never got to try it, which means she needs to go back soon, n’est-ce pas?) One day, arriving too late for breakfast - this may or may not have happened the morning after the drunken charming phone call to the front desk begging for more time - the ladies enjoyed lunch. The Shop Tart had Asian salad. Amazing. The lotus chips on the side were just what the doctor ordered (and the Shop Tart ordered more of them after she ate her vegetables).
By the way, the New York Post arrived every day at their door. Fun! After that lunch, M and the Shop Tart wandered the streets of New York, enjoying their bonus day. While stopping here and there, not accomplishing much of anything, the Shop Tart spotted a take-out window, sandwiched in between two shops on Spring Street in SoHo. The window was no wider than six feet. There was a girl in the window, sitting right above a picture of different kinds of cupcakes. The cupcakes, slightly larger in diameter than a quarter and only an inch or two tall, were one dollar each. They were also exactly as much dessert as the Shop Tart wanted. She tried peanut butter cup while M enjoyed cookie dough. They were both intrigued by the S’more cupcake, which was sold out already. Yum! Baked by Melissa would be a daily stop for the Shop Tart if it was in her neighborhood. Maybe Cupcake would like to open a branch?
The wandering continued and they ran into quite a few fun places, like Legacy - which will be reserved for an entire post all its own - and Clio, a fab home shop. The Shop Tart would like this vase for her birthday, very much. Maybe you and a few friends would like to go in on it? She is also considering registering there for all new dinnerware, just to see what happens. At the end of their long walk, the ladies hit a raw bar before checking out the Lucky Magazine Boutique Crawl (also its own post).
Happy Shopping - wherever you are - and don’t forget to tell them you read it on the Shop Tart!
P.S. You are probably wondering what the Shop Tart can do for you, right? After all, this blog is supposed to be about local shopping, right here in Columbia, South Carolina. And there’s plenty of that. While she was out of town, the Shop Tart heard the Gamecocks won. In fact, she received plenty of texts informing her of that fact, just in case she didn’t know. Ladies, we need to help the Gamecocks keep winning. You know how? By going to Unforgettable Fine Jewelry and scoring some of this fab vintage-style garnet and black jewelry. Show your spirit by wearing jewelry you could wear anywhere. The pieces start at $19 and very few are more than $50. The non-Gamecock pieces are equally awesome and the Shop Tart thinks you should have them for non-game days. They are only $29. Unforgettable loves you! And remember that you get an additional 10% off when you mention the Shop Tart!
P.P.S. If you are still reading, you are one lucky girl (or guy). VanJean is pleased to announce the arrival of celebrated New York designer Jodi Arnold of MINT Jodi Arnold. An intimate cocktail reception will be held at VanJean owner Melissa Blanchard’s home, The Heslep House, on Wednesday, September 30th at 6:30pm. Funds raised from the event will benefit Winston’s Wish Foundation. There will be an informal modeling presentation where Arnold will discuss her meticulous design process from creating patterns, designing prints and manufacturing pieces by hand – and showcase her winter and holiday looks fresh from the runway. In lieu of tickets, a $25 donation will be collected at the door for Winston’s Wish. If you are one of the first one-hundred guests to respond, not only will you prove your mama raised you right, you will be rewarded for your good manners with a custom co-branded VanJean & MINT Jodi Arnold tote at the event.
The following day, Thursday, October 1st, join Jodi Arnold and VanJean for a trunk show featuring her Winter & Holiday 2009 collections. Jodi Arnold is a Birmingham, Alabama native. She created her label, Mint, in 1999 because she wanted a collection that would reflect the refreshing characteristics of its namesake. As she puts it, “The mint leaf is strong, refreshing, pure and vibrant.”
* A little white lie. The Shop Tart and her husband have a loose agreement not to comment on each other’s spending unless it gets really ugly.

Fake shopping, more fun than you think.

After Phillip Lim on Wednesday, the Shop Tart stayed with the ladies of VanJean for their Kenneth Jay Lane appointment. Kenneth Jay Lane makes fab costume jewelry, on-trend season after season with plenty of classics, too. The showroom is delightfully old-school. (It actually smells like smoke, which somehow manages to be charming instead of unpleasant. Perhaps because the Shop Tart is such a fan of Mad Men?) From the elevator, they emerged into a small foyer and entered the office. There were piles and piles…and piles and piles of lovely jewelry.
The Shop Tart felt like a four-year-old at a dress-up party. She tried to focus, she really did, but found herself moving from shelf to shelf rather quickly. Then back again, then across the room, then around the corner, and so on. She was also trying to be quiet, because the ladies had a job to do and she was there as an observer. After Mary and Susan had filled a few trays with their picks, they sat at a table to discuss their order with a representative, picking up piece after piece, deciding yes or no and naming a quantity if the answer was yes.
Kenneth Jay Lane himself walked around, stopping here and there to comment, nice as he could be. There were several pieces the Shop Tart hoped the ladies would order. (Frankly, she didn’t pay too much attention, because she likes surprises.) How much do we love the deco cuff?
And turquoise? Lovely.
These wooden bangles will be featured in an upcoming issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
Love the ring, too.
The Shop Tart desperately hopes this insane bird ring was ordered. If it was, don’t plan on getting it, because she will fight you for it. For real. Love!
Just a few more…
The Shop Tart can’t possibly imagine how buyers do it, choosing things for everyone, not just themselves. Agonizing! At the same time, there’s something very enjoyable about being in a place where you can look, love, but not buy, at least not until spring.
Speaking of things you can’t have until spring, the Shop Tart has very exciting news. Liz at Kicks informed her that Kicks picked up Hayden-Harnett at Coterie the other day. Having Hayden-Harnett in Columbia has been a life-long dream of the Shop Tart’s. She does hope they’ll carry a few of the cuff bracelets, some fab clutches and an enormous hobo or two for the Shop Tart to crave. If you aren’t familiar with the brand, check out their website. Down to a piece, the Shop Tart loves it all. Season after season, they put out collections that are edgy and fun without being too trendy. They last forever and are incredibly functional. Look for bags lined with fabric and plenty of pockets so you can find things. Can we get a round of applause for Jackie Howie and the ladies at Kicks? Hooray!
Yesterday, the Shop Tart and her friend M. wandered the streets looking for nothing in particular. Look for pictures on Monday of their favorites, including Legacy in SoHo, an amazing boutique with its own private label as well as new and vintage things. Heaven! They also spent a little time on the Lucky Magazine Boutique Crawl, stopping in Alexis Bittar long enough for a glass of bubbly and some earrings.
Happy Shopping and don’t forget to tell them you read it on the Shop Tart!

Dream come true.

Yesterday morning, the Shop Tart enjoyed a leisurely breakfast at her hotel, where she had a long discussion with her poor waiter about what she might order from the menu; he gave up and asked her if she would just like an egg-white omelet with vegetables, which wasn’t technically on the menu but should be. She wanted a healthy breakfast because she planned to spend the day going and going. She was afraid of missing lunch, a very scary prospect if you eat like she does. But that’s so uninteresting compared to what she did next…drum-roll…
She went to the Phillip Lim showroom appointment with Susan Steiner, VanJean’s buyer, and Mary Covington and her daughter Cleveland. Mary also works at VanJean, Cleveland has worked there and they were in New York to help Susan. The Shop Tart has a new understanding of what it means to say a shop is “well-edited.” Y’all, buyers work hard to make our shopping experience easier. You have no idea of the sheer volume they have to edit down to order. Melissa Blanchard, VanJean’s owner, and her staff are geniuses. Geniuses with really fun jobs.
The Shop Tart arrived a few minutes early and waited in the foyer. The studio is right in the middle of the garment district. The Shop Tart hears they have a fab sample sale in the spring. Road trip anyone? As she waited, she thought she recognized some of Phillip’s line for children on an adorable little boy who came in after her. As it happens, she met him upstairs later - he is Phillip Lim CEO Wen Zhou’s adorable son. She also has a daughter, who models the children’s line. Dressed in Phillip Lim, the Shop Tart paced, waiting for the ladies of VanJean, taking deep breaths and trying to be cool. They arrived and she would have paced in the elevator but it was too crowded. The showroom was almost as beautiful as the clothing. They walked into this waiting area, where they were able to watch a video of last week’s runway show.
They were led to a table in the beautiful show room to meet Chiaki, Phillip Lim’s sales director. The table was lovely, but they couldn’t possibly sit down, because they were surrounded by racks and racks of beautiful clothes. Everywhere the Shop Tart looked, there was something she had to have, from the double-breasted sequined camp dress to the cropped and cuffed silk pants. And the cropped tank made of the thinnest leather ever. And the lavender suede lace-up wedge sandals. And the light-weight jersey blazer, perfect for traveling or, like, every other day of your life. And the cocktail dresses, every single one of them, no exceptions. And the blue, gathered silk gown she might just have to have for the Unmasking Colon Cancer Ball in March. Susan liked it, too.
Or maybe the blue gathered silk short dress with gorgeous embellished shoulders. Or the lightweight amber brocade bib dress with a belt that was only predictable in its complete brilliance. Or the cropped silk pants dotted with tiny rhinestones. Sorry…what? Did you say something? The Shop Tart was lost in a dream. Down to a piece, the collection was fabulous. Several pieces had open backs with loose bow closures. Normally, this sort of thing sends the Shop Tart into a spiral of depression, because such items are usually not bra-friendly. These were worn layered with tanks or camis and looked divine. There was a cocktail dress with laser cut scalloped navy silk over sheer ivory. At first, the Shop Tart thought it wouldn’t work for her. She sighed with relief when a model wearing it showed her the attached wisp of an ivory slip that provided coverage. Lovely!
And everyone there was so friendly. CEO Wen Zhou’s son was here and there, showing his adorable drawings and saying hello to people he knew. Familiar with routine, he was close at hand when trays of Pinkberry arrived. Speaking of, Columbia needs Pinkberry, so we have a place to go every other day, when we’re recovering from Cupcake. The frozen yogurt tastes like actual yogurt, not too sweet, and comes with all sorts of delicious toppings like fruit and mocchi. Although there was pizza available, this was the Shop Tart’s lunch. Yum.
Chiaki was so wonderful, taking the ladies around the showroom and letting them examine each and every piece, going slowly so they could take pictures for Melissa, who was unable to be here this week.
Susan loved this paper-thin kangaroo leather jacket. The Shop Tart thinks she should order it for the store. Perhaps we could buy one and share?
Wen, who looks far too young and well-rested to be a mother of two and a CEO, demonstrated the new bags and accessories. The combination of her enthusiasm and the brilliance of the collection made the Shop Tart want every single piece. The bags are so life-friendly, you can take them anywhere.
There was a small square wristlet, about the size of a sandwich, that holds just about everything you need for a quick trip to the store or an evening out. You could fit all of the contents of your wallet, a cell phone, a lipstick, a book of blotting paper, even a small set of keys. The wristlet can be thrown inside a bigger bag giving you a quick way to locate essentials. The Shop Tart wants it in red, gray and maybe a few other colors. All of the bags were amazing and the Shop Tart has her eye on this one. Isn’t Mary sweet to take such good care of it for her?
The ladies made a trip into the room where the children’s line was hanging (trunk show at VanJean maybe?) and Chiaki brought out the sunglasses.
The ladies had fun trying them on.
By the way, the Shop Tart can’t show close-ups of the collection because it isn’t out yet. You’ll have to wait a little longer. She can, however, gush over the fabulousness of the showroom itself. She wants this chandelier for her kitchen. Which she wants to remodel completely so it looks more like the Phillip Lim showroom.
She tried on sunglasses too…
After that, it was time to get down to business and the ladies sat at a wide marble table while Chiaki and Wen discussed what we’ll be wearing this spring.
The Shop Tart ate Pinkberry and admired the flowers which echoed the colors in the collection.
As they left, she took one last look at the showroom. (Oh, the necklaces that look like crumpled paper dipped in gold. And the belts! And the shoes! Divine!)
Next up, VanJean had an appointment at Kenneth Jay Lane to look at accessories. Once again, they let the Shop Tart tag along. She’ll tell you all about it tomorrow. (Hint: It was like playing the funnest game of dress-up ever!)
Later, she joined her friend M. at Bloomingdale’s, where they failed to buy shoes but enjoyed a lovely chopped salad and glass of wine in the café. The Shop Tart also found a Super Man shirt for her toddler, with whom she had the following conversation before she left town.
“Sweetie, Mommy is going on a trip with M. She’ll be gone for a few days. You get to stay with Daddy, O, the X-Man and J*! And Mommy will bring you a present! What kind of present would you like?”
“A blue present..and a orangest present…and a t-shirt present.”
“How many presents do you want?”
“I just want all the presents I need.”
“How many is that?”
“Four.”
She has the unspecified fourth present (a big blow-up globe) and the t-shirt present, so all she needs are the blue and orangest presents. Piece of cake. Good thing, because she is tired. Last night, M. forced her to stay up and eat at Shang, the hotel restaurant. She also highly encouraged her to share both a bottle of cava and a bottle of sancerre. They enjoyed delicious sushi and sashimi at Shang. Sushi and sashimi are great for absorbing alcohol, so the Shop Tart isn’t feeling too rough this morning. She is, however, considering a quick jaunt to the sauna downstairs, right after her tea.
Tonight, she and M. are planning on hitting the Lucky Magazine Boutique Crawl in the West Village. Shopping, sipping and socializing. Is there anything else?
Happy Shopping and don’t forget to tell them you read it on the Shop Tart!
