The Shop Tart has always had a thing for Belk. After all, they are based nearby in North Carolina, and they were a safe haven for the Shop Tart when she moved back home from Montréal after college. They could get her things she really wanted, like the Chanel Vamp nail color she craved, and MAC and Kenneth Cole shoes (yes, those used to be a little harder to find). When she heard about the Southern Designer Showcase, she loved them more. When she learned that local designer Annabelle LaRoque had been chosen to have her collection sold at Belk (beginning in spring 2014), she knew they were doing it right. LaRoque can already be found in boutiques all over the southeast, though her original shop on Devine Street in Columbia is still the best place to see what’s new.
The Shop Tart is loving that blouse. In case you didn’t already know, she is totally obsessed with an easy blouse that can be worn tucked or untucked, with pants, jeans, shorts or a skirt. Several lovely blouses were available off the rack in different patterns, or you could pick your fabric and make it your own!
Speaking of fabric, the Shop Tart always enjoys perusing the racks at LaRoque to see what’s new.
The Shop Tart has two dresses by LaRoque that are shaped like the one below. She always gets compliments when she wears them, and they’re comfortable. You need one, possibly more than one.
The photo above is from LaRoque’s Facebook page, where you can see “What’s Outside Today” or you could just do a drive by. Or park and go in. Or park, go in, then eat next door at Devine Foods. (Shrimp burger day is still Wednesday, so you might want to go then.)
The Shop Tart didn’t have too much time to browse, because she was on a Devine Street Sidewalk Sale mission, but how about a maxi skirt? Dressed up or down, love!
The Shop Tart is not finished with summer, but she realizes fall is just around the corner. How about you? Are you thinking about what you might be wearing in a month or two?

Happy Shopping and don’t forget to tell them you read it on the Shop Tart!
