Last week, the Shop Tart had a great post planned about Revente, a place she loves, especially when she finds awesome stuff there at gloriously low prices. Last Saturday, she took a ton of pictures, tried on a dressing room full of fab clothes, and left with two great scores. She was going to post all about it on Thursday, but her blog was having an off week and kept going up and down, up and down. (Any blogger will tell you: Working on a photo heavy post, then losing the whole thing, can be very frustrating.) So she took a little vacation until the blog was feeling better. So…here you go!
The Shop Tart may be a little confused about which things are on sale and which ones are new. (Hey, it’s been a whole week!) And it isn’t always obvious what things are for fall and winter and which ones are for spring, because we live in a delightfully temperate climate. Anyhow…the photo doesn’t do this Mayle sheer embroidered sleeved jacket justice. So chic and slouchy. All you need are some skinny black jeans and a scuffed up pair of ballet flats. And maybe an espresso.
Peeking out from behind that jacket is a crazy, mixed plaid floor length skirt. This skirt made the Shop Tart want to go all old-school Ralph Lauren and wear it with a fisherman’s knit sweater and granny boots. (And she would have bought it, but had set a limit for herself and there were two more practical items she wanted.) Anyhow, this skirt is just cool.
One of the things she did buy was this Brunello Cucinelli jacket with sweater details. This was a rather thrilling purchase, as it was on sale for less than $100 and would retail for at least $1,000, if not $2,000. Hooray!
A similar jacket, by Tibi, was also on sale. This one is great, because you could pair it with a skirt and call it a suit, wear it over a dress for a more polished look, or wear it with jeans on the weekend.
Also on the sale rack, this Armani Collezioni jacket would spruce up your wardrobe, n’est-ce pas? Where else could you get something like this for $225?
Perhaps Armani isn’t your thing. Maybe Oscar de la Renta is more your style.
Y’all know how the Shop Tart likes her couture? On consignment. This Louis Féraud suit — the Shop Tart believes her mother would have referred to it as a “dunnah’ suit*” — is on sale for just $47.50.
This is a great time of year to buy a coat for next year (and you can wear it a few more times before spring). Pretty!
Speaking of couture, this Narciso Rodriguez dress was absolutely gorgeous on — and on sale for a song.
And the only reason the Shop Tart didn’t buy it was that she decided a practical 3.1 Phillip Lim for day time was a more useful choice.
Speaking of Phillip Lim, this navy blue kimono jacket was also there. Mad chic. You are almost guaranteed to feel French while wearing this one.
And…more Phillip. A ruffly gray sweater skirt. Sweet with a white t, blazer and booties.
Okay, in the interest of time — so you can get down to Revente a.s.a.p., before it’s all gone — the rest of this post will involve minimal commentary. (Some sale stuff, some not. But everything’s a steal when you’re shopping consignment!)
Tory Burch heart perforated leather jacket!
Loeffler Randal stud flats! (The Shop Tart owns and loves a pair of these.)
An original vintage Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress!
A Tiffany locket! Real Tiffany! (Just so you know, stuff like this is way cooler if it’s a little worn, because then you don’t look like you’re trying too hard.)
Coral Ralph Lauren cashmere!
J. Crew stripes for spring!
And…more 3.1 Phillip Lim!
A Christian flippin’ Lacroix suit for spring, just $150!
Phillip Lim, a dress the Shop Tart meant to buy when it was first made, and couldn’t afford. Might have to go for this one!
Marc by Marc Jacobs! With original tags!
Jil Sander. On sale, just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Prada! (Yes, that’s a pic of Prada the dog from Pupcakes.)
Phillip again, pretty ruffles!
A skirt the Shop Tart owns and loves!
Ahem. The Shop Tart will calm down now. But you will head to Revente to take a look, right? Right. Need more consignment shopping tips? Check out Make Me Over Eb and her recent trip to Revente.
By the way, Revente’s Last Call will be at SHE Columbia this weekend, as will the Shop Tart and lots of other cool local ladies. The Shop Tart has several pairs of tickets to give away! She’s giving away a pair right now, one for you, one for a friend. Leave a comment below and she’ll choose a winner on Monday night. As always, any comment will do, but we always love hearing about your best consignment shopping scores. Ready, set, go!
In today’s post…
