Oooh…new hair stuff!
Filed Under cheap treat, hair, maintain
The Shop Tart loves her Kevin Murphy Hydrate-Me.Rinse and Hydrate-Me.Wash. They work so well, she can comb her hair with her fingers while it’s still wet. This just doesn’t happen for ladies with long, lumpy, bumpy, frizzy hair. Kevin Murphy’s products are simply the bomb. The Shop Tart popped into Blue Orchid recently to pick up some more of the rinse and they gave her something new to try.
Though she is no angel, the Shop Tart is blonde — although not, perhaps, as blonde as she appears, thanks to a little professional help. Kevin Murphy’s Blonde.Angel is just lovely. The Shop Tart doesn’t have proof, but she swears she looked a little blonder. Maybe you can see it here?
Though the photo is blurry, you may also be able to see that the Shop Tart’s hair is pretty smooth, even though she was on vacation and didn’t have her usual arsenal of products. After washing her hair with Blonde.Angel Wash and Rinse, she put the tiniest bit of coconut oil on it and blew it dry with the hotel dryer.
She also employed a recent vacation purchase. She bought John Frieda’s Sleek Finish brush in Brooklyn, because she forgot her own brush and the friend she was visiting is one of those wise women who only uses the occasional comb and doesn’t actually own a brush. The Shop Tart planned to leave this one there, but — with it’s silicone bristles and IONS releasing tourmaline (whatever that is) — she’s pretty into it, so she took it with her. (And she took this picture from the internet, because she’s pretty sure you don’t want to see the one she’s been using, with her hair in it. Though, to be fair, it doesn’t pull much hair out. But any hair is kind of gross in a picture.) Seriously, this thing plows through tangles like they were nothing. It dances through them like a Cedar Lake Ballet star, with no jerking or tugging.

But back to the Blonde.Angel! (The hair products, not the Shop Tart.) It has all kinds of moisturizing and repairing oils, like olive, sunflower seed, jojoba seed, and brazil nut. It also has lavender flower, an excellent antioxidant and cleanser. Kevin Murphy’s washes and rinses, without exception, are gentle and moisturizing and Blonde.Angel fits right in. And you know what else? It’s purple! Never fear: This will not stain your tile, skin, or hair. And it looks cool!
What are you doing to keep your winter hair looking pretty? The Shop Tart has a love-hate relationship with the things a warm scarf does to her hair. It looks chic and messy, until you have to somehow run a brush through it. Dreadlocks can look mad cool, but not if you accidentally get one big dreadlock on the back of your head. Short of wearing her hair in a bun all winter, what’s a girl to do?

Happy Shopping and don’t forget to tell them you read it on the Shop Tart!

I LOVE this stuff. Keeps my locks creamy – not brassy.
