Friday night, the Shop Tart was invited to a party to say goodbye to a friend who’s accepted a job far, far away. Well, Vancouver, not overseas, but pretty darn far from South Carolina. *sniff*
Before the party, the Shop Tart stopped by Cellar on Greene for a snack, but it’s Restaurant Week, so the place was packed! She bought a bottle of wine to take to the party and realized a table wasn’t going to happen. (She’s glad that Restaurant Week is bringing so many people out to Columbia’s great restaurants!) She and her friends headed down the street to Garibaldi’s, where they lucked into a table. The Shop Tart ordered a really tasty glass of Schug sauvignon blanc. Is this new on the menu? Because it is delicious. Light and fresh — a brand new favorite.
The Shop Tart ordered her favorite appetizer; Garibaldi’s mussels always hit the spot.
And she ordered a side of greens to stir into the remaining broth when the mussels were all gone.
Everyone had appetizers, because they were in a hurry to get to the party — the Shop Tart’s table mate had pizza. Have you ever had Garibaldi’s pizza? Crispy, cheesy perfection.
They didn’t have time for dessert, but oohed and ahhed over the birthday cake at the table next to them. In fact, they were so vocal, the people finally gave them a piece. It was delicious! (And the lady who made it is going to be famous one day. The cake was gorgeous and she had pictures of a bunch more on her iPhone, including a cake replica of someone playing pool on an actual cake table.)
The party was great!
There was dancing!
On Saturday, the Shop Tart was a little tired. She was thrilled when Mr. Shop Tart brought her favorite breakfast tacos from Pawleys Front Porch food truck at Soda City. You should try them.
That night, they were invited to another party and stopped at Cafe Caturra on the way, so they wouldn’t make pigs of themselves at the party. (Which they still did! Oysters, Southern Way Catering panini station and a grits bar? Hog heaven, y’all!) Anyhow, the deviled eggs at Caturra are divine.
And the deliciousness isn’t over yet! On Sunday, the Shop Tart was invited to brunch with the ladies. The hostess asked that everyone bring a more or less healthy dish to go with the cocktails. The Shop Tart totally planned to make Vietnamese salad rolls. But she slacked off and got them at Phở Việt, because theirs are awesome!
After the healthy brunch, the Shop Tart and a friend went to Henry’s for chicken wings and fried pickles. So much for healthy brunch! But so perfectly crispy and delightful.
Those pickles? They were kind of dinner. How was your weekend? And have you tried any Restaraunt Week deals yet? The Shop Tart tends to order her favorite dishes over and over; she loves trying new things and Restaurant Week makes her do it!

My husband was telling me that the Henry’s fried pickles are the best ones he’s ever graced his mouth with. These are on the list of things to eat soon for sure!
The Shug wines are AWESOME! Did a Wine Dinner at Stella’s Simpsonville with Shug wines several months ago. If they have one in Columbia, you should totally go!!!
I have to know how you eat all this delicious food and stay so thin! What’s the secret??
