What’s on your wish list? How about a rug?
Filed Under home, shop, staying in
That’s what’s on the Shop Tart’s sister’s list. (New home owners are easy to buy for, especially if they recently moved from city apartments. They have all that new space!) The Shop Tart is not flush enough to buy her sis a rug. In fact, her own dining room has no chairs at the moment; dinner parties are strictly bring your own. No, the Shop Tart has been scoping out her sis’s kitchen and plans to buy her a few necessities. But she scouted rugs at Strobler the other day for someone else with deeper pockets. And they don’t even have to be that deep! These were all around $300. And there were so many more!
In other news, have you ever wondered why so many people, including the Shop Tart, have perfect little side tables similar to this one? Because they’re inexpensive and complement any decor, that’s why.
As you may know, Strobler has it all — including the big stuff — but the Shop Tart loves making big changes with small pieces like these embossed leather cocktail tables. (Is “cocktail table” a thing? Because these would go great with cocktails. And the Shop Tart only buys furniture with parties in mind.)
Don’t you adore small tables that can be moved around as needed? You never know where you might want to set down a cocktail.
A console table is always lovely, the perfect place to keep a lamp, a chic bowl for your keys, a tray of mail, or a few books.
Speaking of lamps, Strobler always has good ones, priced reasonably. How cute is this?
But maybe you need something more understated. A pair of these would be lovely, just about anywhere.
Speaking of lighting, the overhead options at Strobler have the Shop Tart thinking about a change in her kitchen. What do you think?
Whimsical fabric can add fun to any room. The Shop Tart loves the print featuring mid century modern chairs covering this more traditional chair. Fun!
As always, shoppers at Strobler can peruse fabric at their leisure, and most pieces on the floor can be ordered in the fabric of your choice. (And if you, like the Shop Tart, are incapable of making good design decision by yourself, there are plenty of experts there to help!)
The Shop Tart doesn’t need a dresser. Maybe you do? because this one is vaguely nautical and verrah chic.
And this has nothing to do with anything, but don’t you love mismatched plates? These are fab.
And speaking of plates, just before she went to Strobler, the Shop Tart had lunch with a friend. The lunch was served on plates. During the lunch, the ladies talked abut a lot of things, including the best scented candles for Christmas. Her friend extolled the virtues of Thyme’s Frasier Fir scent. Lo and behold, there it was! (And it smells gorgeous.)
Though the Shop Tart didn’t need candles, she did pick up a box of festive matches. It’s way more classy to walk around the house lighting candles with these than that beat up old Bic from the kitchen cabinet.
And one more thing! Strobler stocks candles made by Rewined. They’re poured into recycled wine bottles, and they smell like wine!
Wait! One more thing! The Shop Tart was sucking on a Diet Coke from next door Groucho’s when she walked into Strobler. The staff told her she could get 10 percent off anything full price with a Groucho’s receipt. Presumably, her cup was as good as a receipt. Besides, Groucho’s has the best ice in the world and they have Diet Dr. Pepper, if that’s what strikes your fancy.
What little changes would you like to make around your house? Or are you looking for a complete overhaul? Or do you have a brand new empty house? If any of those apply to you, grab a soda at Groucho’s and pop next door to Strobler to see what’s in store.
In today’s post…

Happy Shopping and don’t forget to tell them you read it on the Shop Tart!

I love EVERYTHING Strobler. In fact, my house is a living, breathing advertisement for them. Rugs, furniture, coffee tables, bookshelves, the light fixtures you mentioned, you name it, we have it. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. And they have AWESOME sales ALL THE TIME! Thanks for sharing a favorite place!
Bought a sofa from Strobler years ago and it still looks new! Very “shabby chic” and extra comfortable, too!
