The Shop Tart cannot attend this year’s Famously Hot New Year Party, because she has plans to see a mouse about some magic. Last year, she had a blast and this year should be even better. When she heard that Biz Markie would be there, she whimpered — just a little — with disappointment. After all, the man is on one of the best songs ever made.
And the Wallflowers? Well, Jakob Dylan is good looking and the Shop Tart could totally dance to this. (Shop Tart Tip: Dancing all night is an almost surefire way to metabolize that alcohol, sweat out the carbs, and avoid a hangover.)
And everyone should see Atlantic Starr at least once. Can’t you picture yourself waving a glass of bubbly, eyes closed, and swaying to this one?
Local favorites Terence Young and Reggie Sullivan (and their bands) round out the schedule and it’s going to be a great night. General admission is free — FREE! — but for $30, you’ll avoid some of the vendor lines and have a little more breathing room in the Pepsi Premier Viewing Area. And for $100, you’ll have a spot in the Cîroc Crescent Lounge. What will you find there? Everything you need for a fab New Year’s Eve.
- Access to the Cîroc Crescent Lounge (located in Capitol Center at Gervais and Assembly), with a heated indoor area and indoor restrooms.
- Open bar.
- Hors d’oeuvres.
- Reserved, adjacent, indoor parking with a special entrance—you’ll park in the Capitol Center garage at the corner of Lady Street and Assembly Street, and walk directly into Capitol Center.
- Full access to the Pepsi Premier Viewing Area and all its amenities.
- Full access to the General Admission area and all its amenities, including The Zone and Resolution Row.
Open bar, y’all! And food! The Shop Tart was under the tent last year and has lovely memories of watching George Clinton from a prime spot, enjoying plenty of vodka cocktails, and eating the heck out of some made to order panini sandwiches.
How would you like to do all of that for free? Packed and ready to head to Florida, the Shop Tart found something special on her front porch. (This photo is a dramatization, because she hasn’t left yet, and she hasn’t even packed, but maybe she just wanted to show off her cute Missoni for Target carry-on, which she might not even use on this trip. But this is what we bloggers do sometimes!)
