When the X-Man and his cousin were much, much younger, the Shop Tart spotted them in the backyard, walking solemnly around the perimeter, inches from the shrubbery. She asked what they were doing.
“Playing a game.”
“What’s the game?”
“Cool Guys Walking in the Forest.”
Yes. That was an actual game. The Shop Tart still doesn’t know the rules. She does, however, know where you can get the outfits. Circa 1332 is Columbia’s newest boutique for men — and it is a boutique. What’s the man word for that? Brotique. So, this brotique is small, with very personal service, and full of things perfect for cool guys walking in the forest. (Their brother store across the street, Granger Owings, is where those guys shop when they leave the forest to go to work.)
Is your son home for the holidays from New Yawk City? Are you at a complete loss as to what to get him? This gorgeous, chic, and warm sweater is perfect.
But maybe he needs more color. Love!
Is he man enough to rock a cardigan? Because the Shop Tart is obsessed with this one. Besides, ladies, if you buy this for some dude and he doesn’t wear it, it would look pretty great with your skinny jeans and a pair of boots.
Mr. Shop Tart is the king of the cashmere v-neck — really, he is, he has a trophy — and Circa 1332 had plenty of great colors left. And — oh! Did the Shop Tart mention that almost everything was 30 percent off?
And some things are 50 percent off? Last Minute Shoppers Unite! And save money!
The shirt selection was huge (and on sale). The Shop Tart is sure there’s something mad cool and casual for everyone in here.
And — obvi — you will need pants to go with the shirts and sweaters. The Shop Tart was thrilled to find some 30s — her sons are growing up, and they’ve grown out of buy sizes, but good 30s are hard to find!
And how do you feel about these gray flannel pants? Because the Shop Tart thinks they are the bomb.
Circa 1332 also has those jeans you’ve been driving to Charlotte to buy. Guys? Jeans matter.
If you’re still looking for a few small gifts, Circa 1332 has you covered. Everyone needs a cool pocket knife.
Ditto for key fobs.
Shave and beard oils from Brooklyn Grooming are cool and smell delightful and masculine. (Psssst…even guys who never use “products” will fall in love with shaving oil, applied before shaving for a smoother shave with less nicks. But you may need to buy it or them the first time!)
Brooklyn Grooming also makes pomade.
And everyone needs one more cool t-shirt.
And a corduroy blazer to put over everything.
The Shop Tart ended up finding a pair of pants for the big kid that lives with her. Actually, he found them himself, but they’re still getting wrapped and left under the tree. And…Jordan at Circa 1332 was able to have them hemmed in time for Christmas. AND! She offered to wrap and deliver the pants and a gift for Mr. Shop Tart right to the Shop Tart’s front door. Circa 1332 (and Granger Owings) are known for personal service, because they’re awesome.
So, have you been to Columbia’s newest brotique? because now would be a great time — who doesn’t love cool stuff on sale?

Happy Shopping and don’t forget to tell them you read it on the Shop Tart!

Nice find!
Awesome writeup and pics! I see a bromance in the making between my wallet and this “brotique.”
