Or Tuesday! Or Thursday! Any of the days, really. Years ago, some friends fo the Shop Tart’s were home on a Tuesday. Their children had driven them a little more crazy than usual that day and once the children were safe in bed, they decided to open a well-deserved bottle of wine. Away one of them went to the fridge, where they found nothing but Champagne. They hesitated. Champagne? On a Tuesday? Tuesday is the worst day. But, as parents will do, they popped the cork. And suddenly Tuesday wasn’t so bad. Ergo, Champagne Tuesday! The Shop Tart had a less than stellar Wednesday and decided a bottle of Champagne might help, so she popped into Simply Savory for a few bottles of delicious Pol Clement and some Pepper Jack pimento cheese and headed down to Kicks, visions of bubbles and the new Nanette Lepores in her head…

By the way, the Shop Tart does not love her hair in the clip above, kind of scraggly if you ask her. She is very, very thankful to whoever the kind person was who canceled her appointment with Tillman on Saturday. Thanks to her, the Shop Tart will not look like a drowned rat at the museum gala that night. Mwah! A few friends joined her - who can resist shoes and Champagne? - including Tracie, originally from Columbia and back after a number of years in San Francisco. How much do we love her necklace - three strands, different metals and a clock!

Tracie is always rocking some serious personal style. Don’t we also love her vintage bag in the photo below? That other hottie is the Shop Tart’s sister. The Shop Tart wish’s she were brave enough to go redhead like Molly - so pretty!

We all had a lovely time trying on shoes and the Shop Tart thinks she has chosen which pair to stalk this season, a gorgeous pair of Nanette Lepores…

Just in case you need to see them up close, so you know which ones to pick when you go get her Mothers’ day present, here they are again. Size 8, please, although 7.5 will do if the eight is unavailable.

Nanette Lepore at Kicks.

Nanette Lepore is particularly fab this season and the shoes were “ooohed” and ahhhed” over by everyone present. Kate Spade is pretty great, too, and we all loved these bright orange kicks! The shoes she wore into the store, by BCBG, were pretty darn awesome, too.

Speaking of BCBG, this is another pair the Shop Tart will stalk and perhaps even lose sleep over. Love!

Runway look at Kicks for spring.

The lovely Liz Lafitte was there with these L.A.M.B. shoes holding them up to a French Connection dress she had from Belladea. We think the look is a hit!

Why are these ladies smiling? Impromptu Champagne and shoes, of course!

We all smiled over this fab purple bag, the one a certain Kacey Liles Mattox of WACH Fox-57 should probably get for Mothers’ Day…

And we all squealed over the Nanette Lepore ruffled sandals (second and third from the right, top row.)

Spring at Kicks!

Didn’t make it for Champagne Wednesday? Never fear. The Shop Tart plans to do this one all over town. Where should we go next? And don’t worry, you can still go lust after some fab shoes, because Kicks has a party all day today, too. Stop by either location for a 15% discount on new spring styles and a glass of wine. And…they’ll pay your sales tax, so you’ll end up getting more than 20% off your purchase! They’re also co-hosting a trunk show for ladies tomorrow with Granger Owings and having a preview party tonight from 5 to 7 pm. The show will feature clothing by Audrey Talbott, RNG Ladies’, L. Gambert, Judy Lee Cole, Michael by Michael Kors, Mulholland, Barbour, W. Kleinberg exotic belts and Mountain Khakis. See you there!
