Every December, the Shop Tart pats herself on the back, so proud she had the good sense to settle in South Carolina, where kids can ride new bikes on Christmas morning without coats thanks to the gentle temperatures. Every January, she remembers just how very, very cold it can get here. There are some advantages to the cold. How cute is it to burst into a restaurant or bar, cheeks rosy from the chill, and shrug out of a fab coat, throwing it with abandon over the back of a chair? Don’t forget to fling off your hat or scarf and ruffle your hair, which magically falls into place if you used enough product. What? You don’t have a fab coat yet? Well, never fear, dear - there are sales in almost every shop in town and, as always, quite a few coats left because no one ever remembers how cold it will be in January and February.

• Simply Savory’s wine tasting will be held at the normal time this week, Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
• Lola has marked all Fall and Holiday merchandise down 40 to 60%.
• According to an inside source, Max and Prissy will carry not one or two, but a few fab jumpsuits for Spring. The Shop Tart told you this would happen!
• During the month of January, purchase any 1 hour facial from Tonic or H2 and receive micro-dermabrasion worth $40 absolutely free. This is a great way to look fresh for winter!
• VanJean and Pout will re-open today after a break for the holidays.

• Coplon’s is still offering 70% off Fall and Winter merchandise. Plenty of fab choices left. The Shop Tart would like everyone to wave and smile at her husband, who picked up a new pair of Loubutins for her the other day. It is her birthday month after all!
• Finleaf Gallery is closed until January 6th.
