Mr. and Mrs. Shop Tart had a fab time last night at the Songbird Cafe. If you didn’t make it, you really should go next year, if only for the funny banter between songs. It’s a riot! And so cool to be up close and personal with rock stars, like the guys from Sister Hazel that played last night. Last year, not-yet-too-famous Tift Merritt played. This year, youngster Aubrey Collins was there. The Shop Tart can’t wait to say she heard her before she got big. What a super way to support SisterCare, a great cause!

The Shop Tart finally had a chance to visit K.D.’s Treehouse. Unfortunately for her first two children, it looks like their baby brother will be the best dressed. K.D.’s is filled with adorable, eco-friendly options! The space is really well used, too. There’s even a play area for the little ones. Owners Kris and Dea make every effort to be eco-conscious, protecting the earth for all those little cuties. Their packaging is reusable, many of the clothes are organic and the fixtures are either refurbished or locally made. In spite of all that effort, the prices remain reasonable. The Shop Tart loved the ultimate mommy bags, with room for diapers, snacks and a laptop. Her toddler is too close to potty training (she hopes!) for a one piece outfit, but the Shop Tart can’t wait to get this as a baby gift for someone.

Cute, cute, cute at K.D.'s Treehouse!

Do you see the little stuffed animal at the mannequin’s feet? It’s filled with lavender. The Shop Tart has convinced her children that lavender prevents all nightmares and wards off monsters, so she thinks this would make a great gift for any child that keeps getting out of bed and interrupting the adult portion of the day… K.D.’s Treehouse is offering a 10% discount to anyone who mentions the Shop Tart until their Grand Opening party on November 15th, so go dress your little one!
