The Shop Tart is a lucky woman, because Glow closed just after she had her last child. But it isn’t all about her, now is it? Other ladies keep having babies and they need lovely maternity clothes. During her last pregnancy, the Shop Tart went all out. She had regular massages and acupuncture, she spent no less than $40 a week on organic berries and she refused to wear any maternity clothing that didn’t make her look and feel great (or at least feel like she looked great). During her first two pregnancies, she was in denial. She convinced herself she could “make do” with those horrible panel pants and her husband’s Brooks Brothers button-downs. This last time, she absolutely loved her maternity clothes, even the ones for exercise, which made her want to wear them…so she actually exercised and felt great. Funny how clothes can do that.
She found that the higher end maternity clothes fit better. The pants didn’t slide down her hips and the fabrics didn’t trap heat. So where can you, dear expectant reader, find these lovely treasures? At Lula Bloom in Aiken, only about an hour from downtown Columbia.
