Yes, the title of this post includes “Fashion Friday.” And today is Saturday. But remember? The Shop Tart was overwhelmed yesterday. She started this post and gave up. So here it is.

First of all, the Shop Tart will tell you the sad part. She got a little weepy over this dress, designed by Alessandro Dell’Acqua for his brand, named after his lucky number, N°21. Stunning, n’est-ce pas?

Coplon's.

And then there was this other dress, by Céline. The Shop Tart was all, “Oooh. That’s pretty. Love the colors.” But then she totally freaked, because it’s actually made of super soft, lightweight leather, which bumps it up into the realm of TOTALLY AWESOME.

Coplon's.

Also from N°21, these two dresses, one black, one white, both perfect.

Coplon's. Coplon's.

The Shop Tart also had a small freak out over sparkly Louboutins for spring. She likes her party shoes to be as comfortable as possible, while still maintaining their festive attitude, and these look great. They would actually stay on!

Coplon's.

And how about a pair of rose gold sandals with fab fringe from Brian Atwood? Love.

Coplon's.

Those sandals would be pretty fab with this spring dress by Hache, made from luxurious grosgrain fabric.

Coplon's.

Though these Givenchy bags are here for spring, the Shop Tart sees no reason whatsoever you couldn’t carry them every day of the year.

Coplon's.

Speaking of Givenchy, wouldn’t you like to accessorize with this lovely choker? Because the Shop Tart would wear it with everything, from formal gowns to jeans and a white shirt. Or maybe a black or white silk sundress.

Coplon's.

But isn’t it also nice to have things for every day? (Not that you couldn’t wear the Givenchy every day. Because you totally could. And should.) Yossi Harari is lovely.

Coplon's.

And the bracelets!

Coplon's.

As obsessed with the print dresses above as she was, the Shop Tart was thrilled to see something with a similar feel on the other side of the store (the side more in her budget) by Hoss, a longtime favorite. This could be worn as a dress or a tunic with leggings or skinny pants. Love!

Coplon's.

Harvey Faircloth is another favorite. This dress is as good as a week at the beach!

Harvey Faircloth at Coplon's.

The Shop Tart knows you’re dying to hear about the sale stuff. In order to get there faster, here’s a slideshow of a few more things for spring.

And that sale? Get down there right now! Michael Kors micro-pleated green skirt would be perfect for spring, but it’s on sale right now! (60 percent off? 70? The Shop Tart can’t remember, but it’s a good deal!)

Coplon's, sale.

This gorgeous classic by René Lezard is also on sale, and you could wear it forever.

Coplon's, sale.

Oscar de la Renta? Yes, please.

Coplon's, sale.

And everyone needs at least two Oscars, right? (Speaking of Oscars, you’re coming to the Nickelodeon Theatre Oscar Party, right? It’s going to be great!)

Coplon's, sale.

There’s still plenty of time to wear sweaters. It gets really cold in February in South Carolina, remember? See by Chloe, less than $100.

Coplon's sale.

There were tons of other things on sale, racks full, including a few final pairs of the Shop Tart’s beloved Wolfords. Now’s your chance!

Coplon's sale.

You know who else is having a sale? Revente! Their winter clearance is happening today and tomorrow and the Shop Tart heard people were lined up at the door at 9:30 this morning. Deal of the day: this fab pink rabbit coat for just $37.50!

IMG_5581

Or for $197.50, you could have this gorgeous Narciso Rodriguez leather jacket. Yes, it’s more than the pink rabbit but — let’s be honest — most of us would get more use out of this than we would the fur. Though the Shop Tart is not judging your social life.

Revente.

This jacket, by cult-favorite, now defunct, Mayle is darn awesome. Wear it with skirts, jeans, trousers, cocktail dresses, whatever you like. But do wear it at least once a week.

Revente.

Vintage, on sale, cozy. What else do you need to know?

Revente.

Not on sale, Marc Jacobs, still a great price, ’cause it’s at Revente.

Revente.

Also not on sale, but not too pricey (maybe $45?), this tan Whiting & Davis bag rocks the Shop Tart’s world. If she didn’t already have a pale gray one, this would be in her closet.

Revente.

You know what you missed already? This fab shrug, worn last night to Larry’s Big Fat Gay Redneck Wedding, a fundraiser for the Nickelodeon, by stylish board member Lynn Stokes Murray. She looked amazing.

Revente.

You know what you also missed? THE SHOP TART’S VERY FIRST CHANEL JACKET. QUITE POSSIBLY THE ONLY ONE SHE WILL EVER OWN. She snapped it up as the store opened this morning. Yes, she spent more than she usually would, but at $250, it’s a steal for a Chanel. You’ll be seeing a lot of this one, so get used to it. Ahem. Calming down now.

Chanel at Revente.

When you go to Revente today, hit the sale section first, so no one beats you to it, but don’t forget about the new arrivals! Another girl’s castoff could be your best thing ever.

And if this guy’s there, don’t forget to say hello. Cuteness.

Revente.

After Revente, don’t miss next door Sid and Nancy’s big birthday bash! There will be deals, prizes, fun and cool kids. And you are probably wondering what’s going in to the old Sid and Nancy space on Saluda. Even if you aren’t, you’re about to find out. Petal, a Charlotte boutique whose owner has some Columbia ties, will be opening their boutique in March. The more fashion options we have, the more fashionable we’ll be. Hooray!

Not every day works out as planned. Two things the Shop Tart had planned were rescheduled and, as a result, this morning’s post went by the wayside. She will try to get to it later today, but please contemplate this gorgeous dress from Coplon’s while you wait. Alessandro Dell’Acqua for N°21, named after his lucky number. Stunning, n’est-ce pas?

Coplon's.

And…please use your lunch break to shop the Coplon’s fall and winter sale. The Shop Tart’s pick? This spectacular, wear-it-for-a-lifetime Lanvin bag…on sale! Just one left.

Coplon's, sale.

The Shop Tart has a thing for cheese fries. She also has a thing for DiPrato’s. When she saw — right there on their dry erase board — a new dish, chili pimento cheese fries. She graciously ordered them for the table. They were phenomenal, a new high. The fries are the delightfully coated kind, extra crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside. The pimento cheese is DiPrato’s. “DiPrato’s Pimento Cheese Recipe” is one of the most common search terms used to reach this very blog. Just so you know, the Shop Tart doesn’t have that recipe, but you can buy it at DiPrato’s any time. The chili was delish, with plenty of beans and meat, hearty enough to stick to the fries. Behold…

DiPrato's.

For her actual meal, the Shop Tart had her new favorite wrap, which is from the panini menu, but they’re happy to wrap it.

DiPrato's.

Apropos of nothing, the Shop Tart would like to share a new drugstore find: Rimmel Lash Accelerator Serum. Rimmel makes her favorite drugstore brand mascaras. As an aside, is she the only one who keeps several different mascaras going at once? For different looks? Anyhow.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator.

She’s only been using the serum for a few days, so she can’t say for sure that her lashes are longer or fuller, but she’s really into it. It separates her lashes, holding them in place so she doesn’t get that crinkled look. In spite of warnings from various skin care professionals, she can’t stop herself from sleeping on her face. Why? Who knows? It isn’t even comfortable. Maybe she’s hiding. Anyhow, the serum holds everything in place, but it isn’t crunchy. She uses it at night in addition to Revitalash, which she still swears by for lash lengthening. She snapped this photo this morning, right after tumbling out of bed, in hopes of showing how the serum holds lashes in place. Kind of blurry, but there it is.

Good morning.

It works really well under mascara for day as a primer. It separates lashes and holds them in place, like a styling product that holds your style and adds volume at the same time. Hooray!

Last, but most certainly not least, VanJean is hosting a Theodosia trunk show today. South Carolina designer Jenny Thompson is mega talented and the Shop Tart lurrrrves her work. See you there!

Theodosia at VanJean.

And one more thing. Tomorrow is National Wear Red Day. Why? Because red is a fab color and wearing it will help raise awareness about heart disease, the number one killer in America. Check out Palmetto Health Heart Hospital’s 29 Days to Love Your Heart every day this month for health tips and fun, heart related events and giveaways!

As you may know, the Shop Tart is not opposed to a little Botox. It’s purified Botulism and Botulism is found in nature, so…it’s fine by her. (Note: The Shop Tart is in no way a medical professional and that description is in no way medically accurate, but there it is.) When she was asked if she would be willing to get a little hit of Radiesse and a dash of Xeomin for free, she Googled the Radiesse (she had already had Xeomin), read for about a minute and was all, “Yeah! Sounds like fun!” Then she decided to have it taped for WACH Fox, because she has no shame. Chances are good that you will hear about each and every cosmetic thing the Shop Tart ever has, because she can’t shut up. Also, she thinks people should know. Aging happens and we need to be realistic about it. She does things like laser treatments and fillers to look a little better, not younger. So…what is this stuff?

Radiesse is a volumizing filler, so you see immediate results. For a year or two, it continues to stimulate collagen. Collagen is the stuff that makes your face not look all drawn. You know when they say that a woman of a certain age has to choose between her *ss and her face? She can either be thin and look haggard or gain a few pounds and have a nicer face. The Shop Tart doesn’t much agree. After all, most behinds look better with a few pounds, too. Anyhow. Now a woman doesn’t have to choose. She can do all the yoga, running and spinning she likes and still have a pretty face. Yeah! Dr. Lynn used 1.5 ml of Radiesse, which usually retails for about $600. She put some in the Shop Tart’s cheeks, temples and on this one little spot at the bridge of her nose where she has a chicken pox scar that causes a little wrinkle. Did it hurt? Not really. Dr. Lynn used numbing cream before and the Radiesse is mixed with a little lidocaine to take away any mild pain. The lidocaine feels like novocaine, which is why the Shop Tart looks a little sluggy at the end of yesterday’s video.

Xeomin is similar to Botox and Dysport, and the Shop Tart has tried them all. She trusts Dr. Lynn and, when she’s ready to calm her brow, goes with whatever the doc thinks is best. Unlike the other botulinum toxin type A injectables, Xeomin has no additives. (In spite of that, you will not find it on the shelf at the health food store.) This makes the body less likely to develop antibodies to it and launch an attack that would make it less effective. (To be fair, the Shop Tart’s body was perfectly happy to host Dysport and Botox, so this is unlikely to happen, but if you have had issues with the others, Xeomin might be for you.) It’s a little less expensive than Botox. At Dr. Lynn’s, Xeomin is $10 per unit, and the Shop Tart had 25 units.

Because Merz Aesthetics is running a special on Radiesse ($150 off), both treatments together would have cost about $700. Would the Shop Tart do it again? Heck, yes. She’s had Xeomin and similar injections before and usually goes back for more when she’s looking cranky, about once every three to four months. After a week and a half, the effects of the Radiesse are kicking in. Though you wouldn’t notice right away — because you don’t stare at the Shop Tart obsessively like she stares at herself — she can see the effects. When she looks in the mirror in the morning, right out of bed with no makeup, she looks like she slept really well. When she catches sight of her face in exercise class, she doesn’t look quite as distressed about spinning as she has in the past. As an aside, this is the downer about getting free stuff: The Shop Tart occasionally gets one treatment or beauty product for free. Usually something she would be too cheap to buy for herself. After the initial hit, she has to pay, just like you…and she usually does.

The video below was shot just five days after her trip to Dr. Lynn, so the effects weren’t fully evident, but you can already see some added fullness. This week (about a week after taping the video below), the Shop Tart swears her eyes look a little better, even though technically nothing was done to them.

Once she was there, they also offered her some filler for her lips. She thought about it and, somewhat reluctantly, decided to pass. She wasn’t born with wrinkles, but she was born with skinny lips. In watching the video above, she’s kind of regretting turning down the lips. Does she even have an upper lip? If so, where is it? How do you feel about lips? If you’ve ever had injections, please share. (And you don’t have to use your real name.)

The Shop Tart had no bad side effects, though she did have a little bruising at a couple of the Radiesse injection sites, easy enough to cover with concealer. In fact, she went out that night. And she wasn’t supposed to have any alcohol, but bruising be d*mned, because she was going to Terra and wanted a couple cocktails. The bruising was minimal and went away quickly; the Shop Tart used arnica oil on it, which had the added bonus of being nice and moisturizing. You can find it at Rosewood Market.

Gaia arnica oil.

Speaking of arnica oil, that’s some seriously good stuff. The Shop Tart bruises fairly easily and uses a lot of it. She’s also used it on her children’s various bumps and bruises and swears by it, even for the soccer injuries. This is definitely something you should keep in the medicine cabinet.

This may be an odd question at the end of a post about dermal fillers, but what natural health remedies do you use? The Shop Tart is an acupuncture junkie and has also had some luck with homeopathy. Some of her recent favorites include…

  • A combination of kali iodatum and histaminum hydrochloricum from Rosewood for sniffles and headaches bestowed by evil pollen. Yes, it’s already out there.
  • Relaxed Wanderer from her acupuncturist Dr. Herbkersman. Truth in advertising; the Shop Tart is one relaxed wanderer.
  • Nature’s Bounty Melatonin from Target for help with sleeping. Good stuff. The Shop Tart sleeps through the night and isn’t all disoriented in the morning. Hooray!

Hippy stuff.

The Shop Tart believes in balance. Actually? She needs all the professional help she can get, whether it’s from her dermatologist, her acupuncturist or her laser doc (more on that in another post…).

Last week for Shop Tart Tuesday on WACH Fox, the Shop Tart went to her dermatologist, Dr. Annette Lynn, to shoot up. She got a face full of Radiesse and Xeomin. What was it like? Not so bad! You can’t really see the results in the video below — in fact, the Shop Tart’s face looks a little goofy thanks to having wiped off her makeup and also shooting Lidocaine, a numbing agent, into her face. Anyhow, check it out! You’ll see the results tomorrow (and read a little more about what she had done). Radiesse and Xeomin take a few days to settle in and do their thing. The before…

Stay tuned for the after!
